Nothing But Metal interviews This Eclipse!

Nothing But Metal has had the privilege of interviewing the one and only This Eclipse from Battle Creek Michigan. They have some really good stuff for you guys so turn on your tunes, and read this one and only interview!

NBM: Hello how are you guys today?

This Eclipse: Doing great man, how about yourself?

NBM: Thats good, and we're doing fine here! Lets begin the questions!

Question 1. How long have you been each playing instruments and vocals for?

This Eclipse: Brian Parsons started doing vocals for about 12 years, Casey Brann has been playing guitar for 21 years, Kenneth Evans has been playing guitar for about 9 years, Jack Kathan has been drumming for 21 years and Curtis Mason has been playing bass for about 10 years.

NBM: Awesome guys, thats good to know!, Question 2, What made you decide you wanted to start playing?

This Eclipse: Curtis Mason started playing bass because no one else played bass from the area. We accidently discovered Brian Parsons vocal talents when we were jamming in a past project. Kenneth Evans started playing guitar because he though it was cool.

Casey Brann started playing guitar because it was the first and only instrument his family got him and could afford, and Jack Kathan started playing drums from the love of first hearing Tom Petty and Metallica.

NBM: Alright sweet guys! Question 3, What goes into making a song for you guys?

This Eclipse: The music typically starts with a guitar riff written by Casey. The guitar riff is learned by Brian, then Brian writes riffs to compliment Casey's riffs, and then structures the song out, then I Jack Kathan write the drums. Now since our recent line up change, Brian write the vocals.

That's basically it. Record. Master. Practice. Perform.

NBM: Very nice guys, sounds like you have a good sing writing process! Question 4, Do any of you have any hobbies that influence your music?

This Eclipse: Absolutely, sports, video games, nature, adrenaline and music in general.

Oh..

And we can't forget weed.. Lol!

NBM: Haha, those hobbies are inspiring for sure especially the last one! Question 5, What are your goals and plans for the upcoming album?

This Eclipse: To make it the best we can..

And to do our best, to follow in the roots of our major influences.

NBM: Thats always a good thing to do! Question 6, Do you have any plans do a cross border tour at any point in the future?

This Eclipse: We haven't thought quite that far ahead yet, but that would be amazing and we would be thrilled to.

NBM: That would be really cool if you did! Question 7, if you could tour with any other band which band would you want that to be?

This Eclipse: The Black Dahlia Murder!

NBM: Aaah those guys are killer! I've seen them live twice! On too Question 8, Could you tell us a little about the instruments you use?

This Eclipse: Agile, Ibanez and Jackson Guitars. DW drums. AA Meinle cymbals,

and the interesting part is, a 6 string guitar, 6 string bass, and an 8 string guitar tuned in drop A.

NBM: Ooh nice, good set up, I like that. Question 9, in 10 years, what do you expect the band will be doing?

This Eclipse: This refers back to question 6 about traveling and crossing borders to tour; to do that comfortably in 10 years.

NBM: Okay perfect! Last but not least, question 10! Is there any exclusive information you'd like to give out to, too the fans of This Eclipse and Nothing But Metal?

This Eclipse: We are pumped about the line up change, we are constantly writing and recording and hopefully releasing a full length album sometime this Summer.

NBM: Awesome!, well thanks for taking time for this interview, and we can wait to hear the future of This Eclipse, and get a chance to hear the new members!
